Pwani University offers a wide choice of academic programmes leading to award of Master and Doctorate degrees in various disciplines under the stewardship of the Board of Graduate Studies (BGS). In line with its mandate to ensure quality postgraduate training as stipulated in the Pwani University Statute XXII, the BGS offers administrative support to post-graduate students in postgraduate programmes housed in Academic Departments of the various schools of Pwani University. The operations of the BGS are guided by the Postgraduate Studies Policy which is periodically reviewed to meet the diverse and changing needs of the postgraduate faculty and students. At the end of each Academic Year, the BGS presents to the Senate a list of candidates who have met the requirements and qualified for respective Masters and Doctor of Philosophy programmes, for approval of the award of postgraduate degrees in Pwani University.

At this 13th Graduation ceremony, the BGS presents a total of forty-six (47) graduands comprising thirty (39) Masters and eight (8) Doctor of Philosophy graduands for the award of postgraduate degrees of Pwani University. These graduands have gone through rigorous training, examination(s) and duly qualified for the award of their respective master and doctorate degrees after meeting all the academic requirements. For example; all those graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy degree have published at least two papers in peer reviewed scholarly journals in their disciplines; as required by the Commission for University Education. These achievements demonstrate the commitment and focus of both the graduands and their supervisors on the one hand; and the dedicated effort of the graduate faculty in the respective academic departments and schools who participate in various capacities during proposal presentations, theses examination, oral defense panels and other supportive roles on the other hand. As we release them to the world, we are confident that they have been well prepared to make significant contributions in various sectors as espoused in the theme of the 13th Graduation ceremony of Pwani University.

As we celebrate our postgraduate class of the 2025 class, we take note of one Master and one Doctorate graduand (both of them from the female gender!!) who have completed their studies within the prescribed timelines for Master and PhD programmes respectively; in line with Pwani University Examination Policy requirements, as well as those of the Commission of University Education, as stipulated in the University Standards and Guideline (2014). Also noteworthy, and perhaps historic as well, is the accomplishment of the first graduand of the PhD in Business Management program.
