The Vice-Chancellor of Pwani University, Prof. James Kahindi, officially received tablets and power banks from the UNESCO-IICBA Project Lead, Prof. Rose Ruto-Korir, under the UNESCO-IICBA Mobile Learning Programme.

Through collaboration with the African Union’s Pan-African Virtual and Electronic University (PAVEU), the IICBA-PAU project harnesses mobile technology to enhance professional development and school leadership training, with a strong focus on empowering female teachers in Algeria, Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Sudan. Pwani University proudly joins seven other Kenyan universities engaged in this transformative initiative.

The equipment will strengthen the capacity of teacher educators and student teachers to access and engage with digital learning via the Goocus platform, ensuring continuity of learning across diverse contexts.

This initiative reflects the vibrant partnership between Pwani University and UNESCO-IICBA in advancing innovative, inclusive, and sustainable digital learning solutions for teacher education. It contributes to building digital competencies, expanding access to quality education, and promoting gender-responsive participation in technology-enabled learning.
