Abstracts Rules & Guidelines

1. Abstract Rules

The conference aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders to address complex global and local challenges through transdisciplinary collaboration.

Submissions are encouraged from diverse disciplines and sectors that demonstrate integration of knowledge, innovative approaches, and practical impact across academia, professional practice, and community engagement.

Overall Theme: Connecting communities and academia Co-creating Challenges for Global challenge

Topical areas of discussion during panel discussions will focus on.

  • Technology for inclusive development
  • Cultural knowledge, ‘Ethics and Equity’
  • Blue economy, -Marine Resources and Coastal Livelihoods

2. Abstract Structure

All abstracts should follow the structure below.

Title
  • Should clearly reflect the focus of the work
  • Avoid abbreviations where possible
  • Should not exceed 20 words
Background
  • The issue, research question, innovation or challenge being addressed
  • Its relevance to local, regional, or global contexts
  • Why a transdisciplinary approach is valuable?
Methods
  • Study design, project framework, or intervention (what was done)
  • Methods used for research, implementation, or evaluation
  • Disciplines, sectors, or stakeholders involved
Results
  • Key findings, outcomes, or insights (what was found)
  • Evidence of impact or emerging lessons
  • For work in progress, preliminary findings or expected outcomes may be described.

Conclusion

  • The main takeaway or contribution of the work
  • Its relevance to practice, policy, communities, or future research
  • The value of the transdisciplinary approach

Keywords

  • Provide 3–5 keywords that reflect the thematic focus of the work.
  • Examples include: Community engagement; Health systems; Sustainable development; Innovation and technology; Environmental resilience; Policy and governance

3. Abstract Requirements

  • Word limit: 250–300 words (excluding title and author information)
  • Language: English
  • Font: Time New Roman, 12 pt
  • Spacing: Single spacing
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)

4. Author Information

Please include the following information with your submission:

  • Title of the abstract
  • Presenting author name
  • Co-author names
  • Affiliation(s)
  • Country
  • Email address of the corresponding author

5. Presentation Allocation

All submitted abstracts will undergo review by the Conference Review Committee. Based on review scores, thematic alignment, and programme considerations, the Committee will determine whether accepted abstracts are allocated to an oral presentation or poster presentation format.

6. Evaluation Criteria

Abstracts will be assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to the conference theme
  • Evidence of transdisciplinary collaboration
  • Innovation and originality
  • Scientific or practical rigour
  • Potential impact on communities, policy, or practice

7. Submission Process

Abstracts should be submitted via the conference submission link provided.
